Investing in the future of Shea’s through planned giving is a generous way to ensure our glorious theatre remains a gift to Buffalo for many years to come.
Since 1926 Shea’s Buffalo has been welcoming and entertaining patrons from Buffalo and all across Western New York. Ever since volunteers saved this historic theatre from the wrecking ball, restoration of this majestic piece of Buffalo’s history is a necessary and ongoing project.
With three performance spaces hosting international, national and local acts, more than 16,000 subscribers to the Broadway Series, and Arts Engagement and Education Programs – ticket sales only cover a small fraction of our overhead and certainly leaves little room for growth. Philanthropic support is crucial.
As the curtain rises on the next chapter and we approach the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Shea’s, we are poised to create a state-of-the-art facility for generations to come. Additionally, we are the trusted stewards of Michael Shea’s crowning achievement.
“The first time I entered Shea’s Buffalo Theatre almost three decades ago for a performance, the building was in a deplorable condition. Today, after hundreds of volunteer and student hours, it is again the Crown Jewel of the Theatre District. Developing a volunteer restoration program and training these dedicated Buffalonians has been my most rewarding work. To ensure that it is never threatened again with demolition, I join other friends of Shea’s in providing long term financial support by making Shea’s part of my estate plans.”
